About Us

Formed in the summer of 2011, Folsom Gold is a vocal ensemble dedicated to offering audiences, young and old, contemporary swing renditions of Jazz, Standards, Patriotic, Folk, Traditional, Show Tunes and Holiday music, arranged and performed to showcase that which made the songs in our repertoire so well loved in the first place. Please join us at any of the public appearances listed on our upcoming performances page. Folsom Gold is also available to perform for your civic or corporate event, fundraiser, celebration, private party or entertainment venue. Fred Weber, Piano/Music Director
Recently retired after 37 years of teaching music from elementary through university levels, Fred was head of choral studies at Sierra College in Rocklin for 20 years, founded the Sierra Community Chorus, and has sung in the Sacramento Choral Society. Fred is currently active as a professor emeritus, adjudicator and free-lance pianist, with professional affiliations in MENC and ACDA. Fred's awards include CSUS Distinguished Alumni, Sierra College Faculty Member of the Year and Full-Time Teacher of the Year.

Joyce Scolnick, Soprano

Performing throughout the Sacramento region for over 30 years, Joyce treasures her experience as a featured soloist and ensemble singer with the Sacramento Choral Society, the Sierra Community Chorus, the Sacramento Philharmonic, the Sacramento Symphony and the Sacramento Opera.  Joyce has appeared in more than 25 musical theater productions, and sings for many churches and special community events in our area. Joyce teaches piano and voice privately in Folsom, and is an applied voice instructor at William Jessup University in Rocklin.

Debby Weber,  Soprano

Debby has performed both on the concert stage (Carnegie Hall, Mondavi Center, Sacramento Community Center) and theater alike.  Debby studied voice with well known operatic tenor Norman Devol, was a featured performer in Sacramento's Best of Broadway for 10 years, also a former member of the Sierra Community Chorus, Sacramento Choral Society, and music ministry of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church.

Kathi Davi, Alto

From community theater roles such as Meg Boyd in Damn Yankees, Babe in The Pajama Game, and Elsa Schrader in The Sound of Music, to church productions where she has portrayed Mary, mother of Jesus on 3 separate occasions; from cruise ship karaoke, to a night on the stage at the legendary Birdland Jazz Club, and a family vocal group called 3D, Kathi has enjoyed a diverse singing career.

Lori Wolfley, Alto

Lori has been singing since the 4th grade, most recently with Folsom Gold and the Placer Pops Chorale. She enjoys being on stage in local musical theatre productions, and is the director of the drama program at Placer Elementary School in Loomis. An avid equestrienne, Lori's entire family shares a love for horses and riding.

Trish Erickson, Alto

A member of various choral ensembles since the age of 5, most recently Trish performed in a concert tour of Ireland in 2012 with the Placer Pops Chorale. Trish partners with her husband of 20 years in their General Contracting business, and is an avid runner.

Jeff Bader, Tenor

When not on a plane traveling for his work at Micron Technology, Jeff has sung in several groups around Sacramento including many years in both the Sacramento Chorale and the James Mitchell Chorale, various madrigal and smaller groups and even the occasional garage band where he sang and played guitar and keyboards.  Jeff is happy to be singing with Folsom Gold after a few years off from the music scene.
Aarron Kelley, Tenor

Part of the management team at BlueShield in El Dorado Hills, Aarron takes his advocacy for quality health care and patient's well being very seriously. A stint in the US Navy followed high school in Placer County where he honed his talents as a singer, actor and choreographer. A past member of the Sierra Community Chorus/Placer Pops Chorale, Aarron is delighted to be performing once again.

Martin Beal, Tenor/Baritone

Martin has been performing and teaching for over 30 years. With a Masters in Vocal Performance from USC, he has taught Music from elementary through College level, and has sung Opera, Musical Theatre, Rock, and Irish Folk. Martin has performed onstage with such luminaries as Rosemary Clooney and Earth and Wind and Fire, with Music Circus and many institutions in the Bay Area. Having settled into a love for Jazz, Martin has three albums out including his most recent compilation of uplifting Jazz standards called "Smile".

H. Daniel O'Laughlin, Baritone

Having sung on stage for nearly 50 years, in musical genres as diverse as pop to light opera, Dan's theater credits include his involvement as an actor, technical director and producer of local theater productions. Dan currently works for the State of California as an Information Security Officer.

Bob Nathan, Bass/Manager

A former Sacramento morning show host and talk radio personality best known for the "Dave & Bob Show" in the 80's and 90's, Bob served the community as Associate Director of Habitat for Humanity, and works as a construction consultant and commercial voice talent. A concert and event emcee, singer, actor, director and producer of local theater, Bob has performed dozens of leading roles in dramas, musicals and comedies, including his highly acclaimed portrayal of Groucho Marx.
